Hoyer hospitalized with pneumonia

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer remained hospitalized in Washington on Wednesday after being admitted earlier this week by using a case of pneumonia.

“Mr. Hoyer was admitted to the George Washington University Hospital yesterday and was told they have pneumococcal pneumonia,” Katie Grant, Hoyer’s spokeswoman, said inside of a statement.

“He has been treated with antibiotics and resting, and it’s expected to make a full recovery quickly. He anticipates being back at the workplace as soon as possible.”

Hoyer, 79, has long been the absolutely no. 2 House Democrat for longer than Many years, and has made not a secret that they would like to lead the caucus when House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) retires.
