ISG wins

ISG has scooped a 2.5 million contract to refurbish and extend the Hambleton Leisure Centre in Northallerton.

The project C awarded by Alliance Leisure C results in a completely new 5,100 square feet extension on the complex allowing the current gym space for being converted into studios.

The refurbishment with the existing centre include repair and upgrade actively works to the existing water slides, flumes and wave machine from the swimming pool area.

The changing facilities can also be upgraded with the addition of a different members’ change area.

Andy McLinden, Md of ISG’s UK Construction North and Scotland business, said: “We have had a framework agreement with Alliance Leisure since 2010, which happens to be built around Sport England’s need to engage people in fitness initiatives.

“This is putting government-funded provision in direct competition with all the commercial sector when they now boast high-end facilities.”

The centre arrives for completion soon after the season.
