‘Stellar year’ for Opus North following 90m deal Magazine

Opus North, the Yorkshire property developers and investors, has reported a “stellar year” within their shopping centres in Hunslet, Sheffield and Widnes.

The above portfolio is proving profitable after it proved acquired in just a 90 million sale and leaseback deal from Morrisons instruction online 2015.

During recent times, Opus North has completed 32 deals and lease renewals covering the portfolio.

These include lease renewals to tenants including Rymans, Peacocks, Blueprint Menswear, The Fragrance Shop and Carphone Warehouse at Green Oaks shopping centre in Widnes. New tenants include Pandora and Mangobean Caf.

At Hillsborough Barracks, Opus North has refurbished and re-branded ad units Sheffield College space into Barracks House, containing 10,000 feet square of labor space one or two,000 sq ft of very start retail space.

Palmer Capital, the London-based real estate investment manager and minority shareholder in Opus North, provided funding for this original deal from Palmer Capital Development Fund 3, its 150 million jv with CBRE Global Investment Partners.

Opus North MD Andrew Duncan said: “We are maximising the potential of the portfolio and think the return of confidence to your commercial property market in Yorkshire and then the North West, rapidly challenges presented by Brexit, can offer us working with a volume of excellent opportunities, which superior quality to taking.”
